Geoff
X lives in Somerset. UK. He was 77 when he was diagnosed on August 15, 2005. His
initial PSA was 54 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 5+4=9 and he was staged T3. His
choice of treatment was ADT (Androgen Deprivation Therapy). Here is his story.
This
is the first time I have posted on the web (desperation has finally driven me
to it) so please excuse any errors.
After diagnosis my urologist told me
my only course of action was hormone therapy - ADT (Androgen Deprivation Therapy)
and he started me on three monthly Zoladex.
January 16, 06 PSA 1.2 (down
from 54) March 24, 06 PSA 1.03 May 24, 06 PSA 1.17 Started Casodex 50mg. July
8, 06 PSA 0.14 (good result) November 6, 06 PSA 0.19 February 26, 07 PSA
0.47 (doubled) May 11, 07 PSA 0.95 (doubled HRPC?) May 15, 07 - Scan showed
Osteoporosis start Protelos
(strontium ranelate). August 17, 07 PSA 1.6 I suggest stopping Casodex
but my urologist advises against, Saying we should play for time (as my PSA is
still low). November 16, 07 PSA 2.56 Decided to stop Casodex straight away,
will tell my uro next appointment December 21, 07.
Will be most grateful
for Info as to next course of action I know I am in great company. Hang in there
guys. Geoff.
