Herbert
Miller lives in Arizona, USA. He was 72 when he was diagnosed on February 28,
2008. His initial PSA was 2.9 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 6 and although he doesn't
know his staging it is clear that it would have been T1c. His choice of treatment
was Da Vinci laparoscopic surgery. Here is his story.
I live in Arizona.
I have had BPH (Benign Prostate Hyperplasia) for about three years with a steady
1.5 PSA. About a month ago I had a routine PSA that had spiked to 2.9. Had a biopsy
done and had cancer with a Gleason Score of 6.
After getting up off the
floor from shock, I had a bone scan which was negative. I have researched all
options and have decided to go with the Da Vinci robotic surgery. Right now my
biggest problem is who to have it done. I want someone who has done a lot of them.
I have not have much luck with finding survivors who can tell me who they used
in Arizona. If anyone is from Phoenix area and has had the Da Vinci robotic surgery.
I would appreciate hearing from you.
I am going to the local US-TOO chapter
in search of information - more to follow.
