THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2018 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

Hi, I was shocked to find out that I have PC. I feeling great and have no signs PC. I am in good health and very active. I am a Sales Manager for a Lexus Dealer and work 50+ hours a week. Never in a million years would I guess I would have PC. A little history, I am a Kaiser Permanente Health Group Member. I had a colonoscopy last year which a few non-cancerous polyps were removed. Had skin cancer on my lip which was removed with "MOHS" Surgery. I have a physical and blood test every year. The last PSA test that was done in 2009 and was normal. I was shocked to find out that subsequent PSA tests were not done until this year.

I just had my PC biopsies done last week. 12 samples done all had cancer in them. Right Apex = 2 had 100%, Right Mid = 2 had 58%, Right base= 2 had 72%, Left Apex= 2 had 87%, Left Mid= 2 had 50% and Left Base= 2 had 56%.

I go tomorrow, 10.19.15 for my CT and bone scan. So currently I do not have my "Stage" rating yet.

I have been doing A LOT of research and reading on PC and the associated treatments. I am VERY scared of all of the negative side effects from treatment. I want to make sure I make the RIGHT decision for MY treatment decision. I am hoping I get to talk with some of you and how you came to the decision you did and if it was the right one. I also want to discuss the side effects that you have encountered. I am reaching out to all of you for help and guidance.

UPDATED

October 2015

Just got the results back a few hours ago... worst possible results. The cancer as metastasized outside my prostate into lymph nodes outside my prostate and in a couple of small area in my bones around my right skull and right hip area. Surgery is not an option at this point. My Dr. wants to start hormone therapy, Cosodex and Lupron to stop the spread. So we are in a control mode and not a cure mode. Other than that all is good. Doing a lot of research. I am going beat this monster.... I am not....NOT going let it destroy me.

Please help me make a decision.

UPDATED

October 2015

Ok.... Starting my HT this week. Because of YANANOW I have been very lucky to find a mentor from this site that has been through what I am about to embark on. His experience sharing and recommendations have helped more than I believe. I thank him with all my heart.

I have DRASTICALLY changed my diet as well. Research that I have done has moved me to closer to a vegetarian diet with a focus on Acai and Pomegranate juice, soybeans, tofu, broccoli and most of all tomatoes. I have also added a vitamin supplement, 4life transfer factor+. I meet with my original urologist on Wed to discuss the future action plan. Then I meet with a Urologic Oncology Specialist to get a 2nd opinion as recommended by my mentor. I feel great and very positive... Attitude is everything. Update after my meetings with my doctors.

UPDATED

January 2017

I've been on hormone therapy for almost a year now it has not been as bad as I thought I think I'm doing very well. What has really helped me is that I have changed my diet completely and following the Prostate Cancer diet protocol which includes broccoli tomatoes brussel sprouts pomegranate fresh fruits. I am also taking Acci juice vitamins and supplements. Taking all these daily. I also joined a gym and am working 2 times a week. I am working full time. Over all doing very well. I am about to start radiation therapy on 1.3.17 for 7 weeks. I have a great Urologic Oncologist which has helped so much. I am going to beat this and I will do what ever is can to accomplish this. Onwards and Upwards
