Kev C and Julie live in England. He was 51 when he was diagnosed in June, 2016. His initial PSA was 0.50 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 6, and he was staged Unknown. His initial treatment choice was Non-Invasive (Active Surveillance) and his current treatment choice is Non-Invasive (Active Surveillance). Here is his story.

THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2018 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

3 March 2016 went to local doctor in Liverpool as I could not stop peeing as much as every few minutes all day and night. Plus very very bad leg pains. The first doctor I seen never done anything apart from urine test that was normal. She then sent me away saying eat nuts. A week latter after more and more time peeing and still leg pain back pain and extreme lack of energy, I went back to doctor. The second doctor tried to do a back passage test but had no gel, so she couldn't get her finger far enough to check. She said what she could feel felt ok. Sent me away and arranged for blood test.

I went for blood test, full blood test came back all ok. Still in pain, still going to loo every few minutes. They arranged to see consultant. He felt my prostate he said all feel quite normal but because of your leg pain I arrange MRI. All he kept saying was it will not be CANCER because prostate felt ok and PSA are very low. So after scan, he said biopsy next. That come back 2 out of 12 had cancer: 3+3. Put me on active surveillance. My PSA went down on its own to 0.2 in August 2016, but back up to 0.4 last week May 25 2016. Have to have MRI on prostate and hips, along with transperineal biopsy 50 samples to be taken this time. All I would like to know if PSA is so relied on how can some one with PSA of 0.2 can have cancer? They told me it. Small and still in the prostate.

UPDATED

August 2017

just had my transperineal biopsy last night ....do not know why the hospital and urology had me go through this if my PSA has been so low, 0.5 June 2016, 0.2 Sep 2016, 0.4 December 2016, 0.4 April 2017 0.2 July 2017. They keep telling me my CANCER is so small, just have to wait for results in 3 weeks.

UPDATED

August 2017

Just got back from hospital the results of my second biopsy 25 pin this time around. The consultant said there is LESS cancer in my prostate than there was on my first biopsy that was last year. He looked a bit confused...I did not tell him I was on the beetroot and carrot juice protocol. He said what ever am doing keep up the good work. I never thought it would work BUT it must do some thing.
