Will S and J live in Georgia, USA. He was 53 when he was diagnosed in October, 2013. His initial PSA was 38.00 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 8, and he was staged T2c. His initial treatment choice was Brachytherapy (High Dosage with EB and ADT) and his current treatment choice is None. Here is his story.

In October of 2013, I went to a local physician to get my yearly physical and to get my PSA checked. I missed getting a physical and PSA test for 2 years. When my PSA test was returned two weeks later, I was informed that my PSA number was 38.0 when it should have been under 4.0. I was then sent to a Urologist for a digital rectal exam and biopsy, and found out that there was a firm tumor there, and that my Gleason score was 8. I had an aggressive prostate cancer, even though I did not have 1 symptom!!! After tests were done to see if the cancer had spread outside of my prostate to bones, lymph nodes, etc....I was relieved to find out the cancer had not spread. Thank God! The urologist wanted to schedule me for surgery to remove my prostate, but I decided to get a second opinion at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Nunan Georgia. After looking at all of the data, they determined to treat me with: 1) a painless shot of Lupron lasting 6 months (Androgen Deprivation Therapy) to drastically reduce the testosterone,etc.. feeding the prostate cancer, 2) 23 External Beam Radiation painless treatments lasting a few minutes each day..M-Fri. And 3) Brachytherapy with Internal Radiation administered a few weeks after my external radiation treatments. It took 2 days to do the Internal Radiation Treatments. One Monday the first treatment. The next Monday the second treatment. The actual painless treatment lasted under 30 minutes, with a device that looked like R2D2 administering High dose radiation through 13 wires that were painlessly inserted in between my bottom earlier. I healed up in a couple of days and was on my way told to return for my results 6 months later. In 6 months, (June 2014)I thank God that my PSA level was down to 0.05. After another 6 month(January 2014) wait which would give a more accurate reading since I did not get another Lupron shot, my PSA number was still 0.05. I thank God for the wonderful Cancer Treatment Center of America Team who did an outstanding job treating me with the best of professional care. I was treated patiently, kindly, and humanely, with a lot of hope infused into me by my team Oncologist, Radiologist, Doctor, Chaplain, Counselor, Nutritionist, and Dietician!!! I also thank God for the tender, loving care and support of my wife and family!!!

My PSA numbers are still 0.1 thank God, and I have no side affects and life is still wonderful. The Cancer treatment center of America 5 year celebration was absolutely wonderful with hundreds of employees and friends cheering for us as we walked the red carpet. What a beautiful team of caring people and Doctors. I was touched beyond words. Now we are practicing social distancing with COV-19.
